Jannat Spa, Crawford Street, London

I was given a Groupon voucher by a relative as a gift, for a 1hr body massage and an Ayurvedic facial. I was very pleased ofcourse and made my way to Marylebone on a rainy Wednesday afternoon and ended up in Crawford Place instead of Crawford Street.
So I called up Jannat Spa for directions and the receptionist didn't have a clue where I was, and said I'm in the wrong place, I should be near Marylebone Road not Edgware Road. She also didn't know the postcode of her own work place! At this point I started panicking as I thought I was miles away from where I should be. I know these two locations aren't too far away from each other, but I really hate getting lost! Thank god for 21st century technology and GPS. I looked it up on my phone and actually, I was only 2 minutes away. Determined to complain about the receptionist after the treatment, I entered Jannat Spa. The receptionist was busy chatting away on the phone in Hindi, so another lady booked me in.

The picture on the Groupon site is extremely deceptive. The salon was messy and cluttered, the two ladies who seemed to be the only staff there, did not even have uniform. I wasn't offered a drink. Call me fussy, but these things are important. The treatment room was shocking (see below). Dirty, untidy and unwelcoming. The towels were unmatched and one had a hole in it! There was no soothing music on, instead I had to listen to a customer rabbiting on about her eyebrows. I was amazed at the lack of professionalism. This place would have been fine, if it was in Southall- but not Zone 1, London.

There were some positives. The facial did leave my skin really soft so I was pleased with the outcome. The massage did not relax or comfort me. I was waiting for it to finish. What more can I say?

I certainly wouldn't recommend this salon to anybody. When you go for a massage you expect a relaxing environment, professional staff, fluffy towels, candles and ice cold water with lemon! I didn't complain about the receptionist as she was the one who carried out all the treatments. She was friendly so I just didn't have the heart to do it. Jannat Spa really need to up their game. I'm surprised they're still in business.

  2. Terrible place I would not call this a spa
    10 Oct 11, 22:16 Well below expectations
I bought a deal with living social for a full hour long body massage and 30 minutes facial treatment. We booked at 3 pm on Sunday 09/10/2011 we arrived on time, the staff asked us to wait for 5 minutes but we waited for 15-20 minutes before they were ready to begin the treatment. Some of the staff cannot speak or understand English well.

Basically we had a poor massage for 40 minutes instead of 1 hour and one of the staff gave me a facial treatment by scrubbing my face quite vigorously. I asked her to stop and be more gently...she could not understand and my face was sore and red ( still red today). After that she put a mask on my face, even in my nose. After 10 minutes, that was it!!

I would definitely not recommend this place for a massage or a facial treatment.

  4. I agree, I had a massage yesterday and the owner was really rude. I was a tiny bit late but she told me to wait whilst she talked on the phone for 10 minutes. Then when she had finished she asked what tiem my appointment was, then told me off for being late. The cheek! the treatment room was dirty with a flikering light and the therapist kept shouting to talk to people in the main salon. wont be going back.

  6. Seen the photos above, does not appera to be Jannat and the person appears to ahve taken a photo without permission! Wow how did she get away with it and this does not appera to be the place we visited as the salon was spotless, it has an Indian Ambience which fits the name, Heaven.

Our treatments were very good and our exerience was nothing like the reviews above

We are going back as the Spa has great Christmas Offers on

  7. Glad to hear people had a positive experience at Jannat Spa, maybe they have got their act together now-my review was written 6 months ago. Although the most recent comment seems to be written by a staff member!
I can guarantee the pictures are from Jannat Spa.
'Indian Ambiance'? Does that mean a complete mess? Dirty and unhygienic? If so then yes there is lots of 'Indian Ambiance' especially with staff members talking at the top of their voices in Hindi, on the phone and to each other.
It certainly is not heaven but as I said maybe things have improved, which is definitely a good thing.

  8. I have just seen your review of my favourite Beauty Salon and I am apalled at your comments.

My family, friends and i HAVE BEEN GOING TO jANNAT FOR YEARS SINCE THEY FIRST STARTED IN CRAWFORD STREET AND THE SALON IS NOTHING LIKE HOW YOU HAVE DESCRIBED, IN FACT THE PHOTOS ARE NOT EVEN OF THE SALON. I AM UNSURE WHY YOU WOULD BE MAKING UNTRUE STATEMENTS. I HAVE TOLD ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILIY TO UPDATE THIS SITE WITH THE TRUE REVIEWS ABOUT JANNAT

THE TREATMENTS ARE FANTASTIC, THE THERAPISTS ARE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND EFFICIENT INCLUDING EXCELLENT IN ALL THEY DO.

IF ANYONE WISHES TO GET AWAY FROM THE DAILY STRESSES, JANNAT IS THE PLACE TO GO TO.

THEIR EYEBROW THREADING, FACIALS AND MASSAGE ARE UNRIVALLED

I AM HAVING MY BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION THERE AND MY SISTER HAS BOOKED HER HEN PARTY NEXT MONTH TO BE HELD AT JANNAT

  9. Jannat Spa, a sheer heaven, the threatments are fantastic, staff excellent and very professional, the decor - I feel at peace as soon as I get there, the prayers playing in the background, the beautiful aroma of essential oils, the inviting atmosphere, the welcoming staff and the clean beautiful rooms decorated in Indian Ambiance

We all have been going to Jannat for the last 5 years and have always been delighted with all the treatments we have had.

It is our first choice to go to for treatments and recommend to friends and family or purchase of birthday presents.

We always look out for the Living Social and Groupon vouchers to purchase and Jannat always has monthly deals for promotion.

All treatments are fantastic and at very reasonable prices especially for a Salon based in central London

    1. How amusing! Four comments made within 5-10 minutes of each other, disputing my review and praising Jannat Spa in a very unrealistic fashion.
Dear Jannat Spa staff, if you would like to defend your establishment I suggest you come on here and give a realistic account of how you have noted what people have said and how you're improved your salon.
Coming on here and giving fake reviews by just using different names is immature and deceptive, and is not going to fool anyone.
I gave my honest review and I'm glad Jannat Spa have read my comments, it may help to provide a better and more professional service and environment in future.

  12. Well done you for even getting to the 'Spa'. After numerous attempts to contact them to arrange an appointment including leaving messages etc I resorted to e-mailing them to state my disappointment in the lack of reply and could I please arrange a time and date before the gift voucher I had expired.
The response I got was rude, questioning and challenging with 'prove it' requests for each phone call I had claimed to make. I gave up, the ambiance for a relaxing massage had certainly been ruined.

  13. I am reguler claint of the jannat spa. I have every beauty treatments at JannatSpa and the treatments are fantastic, their therapists are great and very professional and their all treatments efficient and excellent. We will defininately be going back.

  14. Jannat - sheer heaven and London's best kept secret, but not anymore as the cat is out of the bag!

Best brow and full face threading I have ever had which was absolutely painfree. My eyebrows have never looked better and fuller with a fantastic arch which has changed my face completely as I look incredily glamourous.

Our group is always in and out of Jannat as they have fabulous therapists, therapies, tranquil and friendly atmosphere and decor which is very spiritual and holistic.

They also run free meditation classes every other Thursday as their etos is that beauty begins from inside.

    Wow.

  25. I am not looking forward to going there my husband bought voucher on KGB we using it end of May will let you know the truth about the place. It is really strange that they don't have pictures of their treatment rooms on their website like high end spas....

    ReplyDelete

    1. Don't expect anything professional or high end, then you won't be disappointed. I think the staff are qualified enough, they just don't have that professionalism and pristine surroundings that we want out of a 'spa'. Do let me know how it goes, they may have improved.

  26. Oh dear. Seems like Jannat Spa staff are at it again, with their hoax reviews! See above about 10 comments left all on the same date (April 10) within 10-20 minutes of each other. I wanted to delete them as they are so obviously fake, but I'll leave them for sheer entertainment and also so that people can see their desperateness.
By leaving fake reviews, they really aren't doing themselves any favours. How about just cleaning up and conducting themselves in a professional manner, that may get the punters in?

  27. I recieved a voucher for this from gogroopie as a gift, but could tell as soon as I called them it wouldnt be any good - the receptionist did not understand english very well, and did not know about the free meditation that is advertised on their website on a thursday.

I cancelled the voucher and will be looking elsewhere.

  28. I have bought a voucher for a manicure and pedicure...Slightly concerned about attending now wish I had read this first. I will post back if there is any improvement on the above reviews.

  29. I had a "Shellac" manicure there recently as one of an advertised deal.
It started to chip off after 3 days - not 3 weeks (I've had Shellac manicures before and they are brilliant). I suspect they are not using the genuine CND Shellac but a much cheaper polish with not the same staying power.
Not really worth going to this salon.

  30. I also had a "Shellac" manicure and thought it was TERRIBLE!! The lady didn't have a clue what she was doing. They were all chipped after just 2 days. It was anything but a 'Spa' experience.

I purchased a Wowcher deal for 'Shellac Diva', which was actually Jannat Spa. No wonder they don't put their actual name on the advert, because people would come across all of the terrible reviews online!!

If you have purchased a Wowcher or Groupon, make sure you complain. I got a full refund by giving a detailed account of my visit to this 'Spa'.

DO NOT WASTE ANY OF YOUR MONEY AT JANNAT SPA!!!!!!!!!

  31. Almost bought the KGB deal for Shellac Diva for a mani pedi a day before my bday... Thank god I read these reviews!!!

I would've been so bummed if I had gone there...

Any other suggestions for good mani pedi?

  32. could you recommend a place near baker street thats good for eyebrow threading?

  33. I'm sorry I'm not that familiar with the area with respect to beauty treatments, but I know you can find good threading in Debenhams and Selfridges on Oxford Street.
